Sangster Law started practising law in 1978 when William A. Sangster first moved to North Bay. He came to North Bay from Hamilton, Ontario because he always loved Northern Ontario as a child. He worked with several lawyers from 1978 until 1990 when he opened his own firm in 1990. We are still located in his original building at 234 Main St. West.
He started as a Criminal Lawyer and gained much success in that area of practice. Always the humorist, he coined the phrase "If you're a Gangster come to Sangster". He later expanded his practice into Real Estate, Corporate, Wills & Estates, Family Law and Civil Litigation.
Most notable for his success in the Civil and Family law fields, Bill Sangster began to grow his firm into a highly successful Real Estate firm. Sangster Law has kept up his tradition by offering services in all of his original fields of work. We now offer residential, commercial as well as private mortgage Real Estate work.
Bill Sangster has now passed his practice to his son, Liam Sangster in late 2015. Liam has been managing the firm since December 2015.
